Carradale
Cottage, self catering vacation rental on the Mull Of Kintyre
Port Righ Cottage lies in the grounds
of Dunvalanree hotel, in an unrivalled position just yards
from the shore at Port Righ, a small hamlet on its own at
the edge of Carradale. The cottage is furnished and decorated
to a very high standard and with the wood burning stove in
the lounge makes a restful retreat to return to after a day
exploring.
The cottage is designed for two, (plus baby if you have one).
On one floor the accommodation comprises: lounge with beamed
ceiling and wood burning stove in surround, open plan to a
small kitchen and dining area, one double bedroom and shower.
On the Carradale side of Kintyre, the coastline is dramatic
and rugged and boasts a number of walks. Carradale is a charming
little village with a local store and a choice of restaurants
(Dunvalanree, a Taste of Scotland restaurant is very handy)
for food as well as bustling little harbour, a 9-hole golf
course and two safe sandy beaches. To the south there is Campbeltown
with many buildings of architectural interest, and, if golf
is of interest, Machrihanish is worth a visit for its championship
course alone.
The cottage is the red roof behind the hotel. Guests often
use the hotel garden which overlooks the bay, Arran and Carradale
Golf Course.
One well behaved dog is welcome but should not be left alone
in the cottage. We have two small, generally friendly dogs,
a Lasa Apso and a Westie, who greet visitors!

Port
Righ Cottage is
an ideal centre to explore places like Gigha, Machrihanish
and Campbeltown, following
in the footsteps of kings and saints and Viking warriors as
well as further afield the coasts and islands of Argyll.
